Dear client don't be afraid, one basic thing of law is anything done in good faith is not a crime in your case your friend accepted such a risk which saved you from illegal track of the society,an honest police officer can understand the importance of it.section 167 0f Indian penal code also restricts govt, servant. In this case police officer write a document in such way which may cause injury to your friend,no doubt for extraction of money police officer will treat it as bigamy but if you will take strong role ask for lady inspector for inquiry your case will be normal and only to prepare wrong or false document only be the crime and which is done in good faith will be treated and by warning he will be relieved in this case, your witness is highly importantat, and he treated you just as a sister is important,if needs further help ,I am with both of you.best of luck.

Since you have married to this person who is your friend and also you have registered your marriage with competent authorities you can't deny the fact now that you are legally wedded wife . In this situation the only remedy for you is to mutually settle the matter with the aggraved party .

His wife is right, legally, you & your friend resorted to wrong solution
There were better lawful resolution to your family problem but he committed offense, though howsoever good intent, to help you, put himself in trouble
though, you may not be implicated for his 2nd marriage, but undoubtedly legal action can be initiated against you too for submitting false information to marriage registrar on oath willfully
You approach to local good advocate with full details
Thnx
