You may file petition under Section 27 of Hindu Marriage Act. You have to contest any false list that may be filed by your wife. Yes, LED TV, AC given to your wife by anybody comes under istridhan. No. Monetary expenses made by your wife's family during functions do not come under istridhan. During mediation we do not speak about legal liabilities. It is something like buying peace. Yest jewellery given by you or your family to your wife comes under stridhan.

Well you can file a case for defamation in case you do not have dowery articlec court generally ask for jewellery and not for household items generally list is presumed by court is false which the wife prepare it is very difficult to prove list in evidence where each and every family fail to produce dowery list you need not to worry what ever article you have make a list an there evidence further you can contact us for furthet legal questipm

Query; 1. May i know the procedure for returning the Istridhan ?
Answer: You may return the istridhan anytime and anywhere against due acknowledgement by your spouse with proper attestation from such witnesses which may dispel any doubt about the genuiness of handing over or that your wife may not dispute that you have already handed over the articles to her. If your wife is not willing to accept the articles in above manner, then your may file an application before the Court where your case is pending or to the concerned Investigating Officer who is conduction the case enquiry.

Query. 2.What to do if my spouse handles the false list of Istridhan ?
Ans: You may submit the genuine list which is called Admit List of articles and insist upon proof to be produced by your wife.

Query 3. Does the LED TV , AC given by her family comes in Istridhan ?
Ans: Any thing given at the time of marriage or before or after marriage in connection of marriage is her istridhan and she is entitled to her except gifts given to you.

Query: 4. Does the money expenses made by her family during engagement function comes in istridhan and can they be reclaimed during the mediation process ?
Ans: No, neither the same is istridhan nor she is entitled to claim. Moreover, mediation proceedings are only persuasive and you are free to agree or disagree. So fell free to say whatever you want in mediation there is no pressure or boundation.

Istridhan is the list of articles that has been gifted to a married woman after and at the time of solemnization of marriage,Basically anything that has been gifted to the woman from her parental home and whatever you and your family have gifted her at time of marriage comes within ambit of Istridhan. Therefore what can be claimed depends is a matter of record,and can be looked into as per facts and circumstances each case.
