Procedure to apply for marriage under special marriage act

11-Nov-2023 (In Family Law)
Hi, Is it mandatory for both the girl and the boy to be present to apply for court marriage under Special Marriage Act? We both are Hindu and we want marriage under Special Marriage act and not under Hindu Marriage Act as we don't want a ceremonial function. Can any one of the spouse apply for the marriage in their own state where they are living for more than a month?

If both of you don't want to ceremonial function just like any other Hindu marriage still you can register your marriage under Hindu marriage Act. There is no purpose to register a marriage under special marriage act. It is possible only when any of you change your religion. Think properly. REVERT ME. ALL THE BEST
