My Wife lodged complaint about me in her home town under section 160

Myself and my wife is having issues about her family intervening and asking for continuous money from me and asking her for her jewellery . Under their influence and without my permission they have taken to her to Chandigarh.All i got to know about now is they have done some complaint against me and my family and it is coming as 160 CRPC .
Section 160 of CRPC empowers a police officer to require attendance of witnesses.
A police officer has power to call for attendance of any person who is available within the limits of his own station or adjoining station. The investigation officer can summon an accused also to appear as witness.
If your wife and her family have made you an accused, the Section does not authorize a police officer to require you to attend the station to answer the charges levied against you. This needs to be kept in mind by you. If they try to force you, you can always express that you will answer at court and not in police station.
