Dear Sir/Madam, you have every right to get the benefit of your deceased husband. The company will answer to your in laws as per law, you don't worry about this... if your in laws having right over this, they are also claiming their right by way of filing the petition before the civil court by making a parties to you, the said company and other respective parties. If your in laws filed the case against you, you have to defence by engaging council your side... if not... you don't worry, simply ignor the attitutde of your in laws.

In the death compensation your mother in law has got right equally with you.
If there is problem and co., is holding the money, let the co., issue letter to you to obtain the succession certificate from the civil court to release the benefits to the legal heirs of the deceased.
If there is a nominee co., will have to release the benefits to the nominee, but nominee cannot take entire benefit because he/she will have to distribute the benefits to the legal heirs. First you talk with the office head and get the letter and file probate and succession certificate in the civil court. Jurisdiction of the court depends on the benefits available.
