If I have to opt for divorce, how much alimony I have to pay?

07-Feb-2023 (In Family Law)
I was married in May 2014. We were together for 5 months. Due to differences we are living separated since Dec 2014. No Child. Now If I want to file for a Divorce, how much Alimony will I have to Pay? I have monthly salary of 55K after regular deductions. I own a 1 BHK flat for which I have taken home loan and current outstanding is 11 Lacs. I do not have financial responsibility of my parents as my father is a pensioner. My wife is an engineer and does not have a Job. How much Alimony will I have to Pay if I have to opt for one time settlement?

Hi it not compulsory and it depends on your case if you are going for mutual divorce than you have to discuss between with your wife. And if it is not mutual and she files for maintenance than it depends on her salary if she is working and on your case.

Hello
If you are going for mutual consent divorce then u both have to decide about the a alimony it should be settle between you both. But if u are filling for divorce then
Since your wife is well educated and capable of working she cannot ask for the alimony as per lastest supreme Court guideline educated women shall. Not be eligible for alimony . She is nt working doesn't make difference . If she was working before marriage then she can work after divorce also.

Thanks

Hi What were the circumstances of your separation that would be one of the many factors to determine if any alimony to be or not, as she is qualified to work and period of marriage short and no children. Is she agreeable for the divorce ?

Hi

Alimony will be decided upon merits of the case.
If your wife is earning or able to earn then there are less chances of her getting the alimony.
You cannot restrain yourself from divorce proceedings because of alimony
