You can file divorce & even file multiple complaints against the family. And you don't ve to undergo any torture, instead file and FIR against cruelty. Ignorance to violence is always an invitation to many other problems.

You can move application before police for demanding Dowry from you moreover you also can file petition under section 125 cr.p.c in court for maintenance amount from your husband. You can also file petition for domestic violence Act against your inlaws family. If u want advice in detail. then u can call me.

There is no issue whether you are a Hindu or sikh, law is same for both. Secondly you can't file divorce within one year of marriage but you must file a police complaint to nearest police station and give a written complaint to the women cell but make sure you before going for any complaint for better adjudication you should consult a lawyer. And further more could be discussed through personal appointment only.
