How I can get my marriage registered in mumbai?

i am staying in Gujarat and my wife is from MP. My marriage was solemnized in Mumbai, as i have my ancestral home in Mumbai.all my residence proof documents are from gujarat state. In order to get a marriage certificate in mumbai i read that i need a local residence proof document in my name. The local residence proof ( light bill ) is in my father's name in mumbai. Can somebody suggest me how i can get my marriage registered in mumbai.
You need to appoint advocate who is expert in all such types procedural aspects. Legally answer to your query is yes u can very well register your marriage at Mumbai as it was solemnized in Mumbai. So it is better you appoint a local lawyer abd get it executed.
