Harassed by alcoholic father what can I do

30-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
My father has been alcoholic for as long as I can remember. My mother and me were severely physically and emotionally abused as I grew up and he still does it. I'm 26 yr old with personality problems and anxiety and studying psychology and my needs are met by my mothers 10k/m income who works hard even as she is diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. He earns nearly 85k+ per month but there is hardly anything to show for it apart from basic ration every month. He is wasting away his income and I want to know how I can force him to responsible financially using legal means! Christian Family here.

Give him counseling and try to take him to dehydration centre and admit there or give him medicine to detach from it and see.you can file Dv case and ask him to pay maintenance. You can report the same to his company. Give a complaint to womens commission. file a petition to get maintenance.

Why you should allow the past to haunt you? You are 26 years old and has the reached the stage of life where you should take responsibility for yourself. May be your personality is affected because of the troubled past. But as a psychology student, you are better equipped than us to seek and avail the remedy.
As regards to your mother she can always seek appropriate remedies under the DV Act.
