Girl refuses to marry under family pressure after Court Marriage

21-May-2023 (In Family Law)
Me and my girlfriend are in a 9 years relationship. She is muslim and i am hindu. We had registered for court marriage. But somehow her family got this news and they have home arrested her. We missed the marriage tenure of 60 days. Also her family had tortured her physically, mentally and emotionally for 3 months and she is completely compelled and now agreed with her parents. She was tortured so much that she even tried to commit suicide by cutting her hands veins. She had told me to forget her and move on. So, can I get her back by filing a complaint that she has broken her marriage promise, or is their any better way to get her back? Please help.

In the given situation you can not do anything as if she is not giving her consent to marry then there is nothing you can do. A promise to marry is not a valid promise enforceable by law, thus, all you can do is ask her for her consent and thereby register for marriage. However, you can complaint in the women helpline for the domestic violence which is being inflicted on the said girl by her parents.
