Can parents stop me from marrying the girl of my choice

I am 25 years and my girlfriend is of same age. We both are well educated. We are in love for the past 8 months and decided to marry. We both belong to hindhu community. But our parents are not accepting our marriage as it is intercast and we both lost contact between us for the past 1 week as we were kept in our houses. Can i get any advice for our marriage?

Since both of you are majors, you can marry the person of your choice. No one has a legal right to stop you. But both of you must be willing for it, either of you can force another. Cast is not a barrier, you can go for a register marriage, or perform as per your rites and customs and subsequently register the marriage

You can complain to the police station/ State human rights commission that the girl is being held a prisoner at her home against her wishes to marry you.
Police/ state human rights commission will issue notices to the girl (if she is a major) and ask her to present her side of story.
