Can affidavit be made for disowning mother for her illegal activities

My mother is involved in some illegal activities. Can I make some declaration/affidavit to save myself if some police or legal action is taken against her?
In the given situation, denouncing your mother is not possible, however, you can inform the police regarding the same. You can turn as a prime witness against your mother giving her to the police custody.
