Can a person marry his mother's cousin according to Hindu Marriage Act

I want to marry my mothers long distance cousin and she also wish to marry me. I.e my grandmother was cousin of her father and her grandmother and my great grandmother were really sisters. Is it possible for me to marry her. We both are maharashtrian

From this it appears that she is your maternal aunt. Further her grand mother and your great grandmother were real sisters. Hence the relation between you and her is nearest relation. Further I have not com across with any case that a nephew married with his aunt. There may not be any bar in Codified Act. However, society will not accept this marriage

Sir, in your case you are allowed to marry and being a Maharashtrian especially is allowed to marry your cousin and she is not your first cousin so I don't think there can be any issue if the girl is consenting adult and if you are too you can marry her.

It comes under prohibited relationship under Hindu marriage act Hence you can not marry her by law.It comes under prohibited relationship under Hindu marriage act Hence you can not marry her by law.
