Are sons entitled to give maintenance to their mother

07-Feb-2023 (In Family Law)
My mother is above 80 years old. she has three sons and four daughters .all the four daughters are housewives. And all the sons do not take care of my mother because it has been one month that she cannot walk properly and is bedridden. Now my mother is at one of sisters house and now all the brothers are not willing to take her at their home and also not willing to give money for her expenses. So now is there any law against them if they are not willing to even take care of the old mother even not willing to give money for her expenses???

Yes your mother can file a simple application giving details of her plight and details of son and attach copies of her medical ailments and approach the commisioner at 7th floor , labour court under the Welfare and Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizen's Act, she won't require an advocate also , her daughter can accompany her.It is faster than magistrate court.

Of course the sons will have to bear the expenses of their mother. Please approach the court and surely the court will direct the sons to pay towards the living as well as the medical expenses of their mother.
