What right the employer has to force an employee to join

02-Aug-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Hi, My wife attended for an interview and got an offer with a reputed organization. This was a contract Job. After discussing with her family, she decided not to join the organization considering her health and night shifts. However, she received several calls from the consultancy requesting her to join the organization. They kept her SSC (10th) certificate. Now, she recently got another call wherein they said that she signed a contract and need to pay 1 Lakh if she won't join. She has not signed any bond paper. She has worked for a day due to their pressure but she is unable to handle the situation. Do they really have the rights to force her to join and work for an organization? Can they take legal action against her? Please advise

It is to be known that whether your wife had executed any contract with the organization. If so, what are the conditions in the contract. If she had not executed any contract, they cannot claim any amount as said by you. Ignore all such demands, and give a befitting reply to such false demands in competent court of law.
