What procedure to correct mistake w.r.t name in CBSE 10th mark sheet ?

Dear Sir, Recently we noticed that there is a spelling mistake in my daughter's surname and father's name in her 10th CBSE (2015 - 16) marks sheet. We tried to contact the school to rectify the problem as soon as we received the marks sheet, but there were no appropriate steps taken. Now she is studying her Intermediate 2 year. Please advise us how to follow the procedure regarding this issue..
Instead of applying for correction of surname in various authorities i.e. school, college, passport etc. separately, you better apply for change of surname before the concerned Collector Office. There is a long procedure i.e. Application, Affidavit, fee to be paid to Gazettee notification, paper publication etc. This is the correct procedure. Showing this Gazzettee Publication, you can apply for change of surname in all the authorities, where there is a mistake of surname. It will cost between 8000 to 10000 if you allot the work to agent. If you do the work by your own, it may cost half of the value.

First you have to write a letter to the district educational officer concerned and request them to rectify your problem along with proof of your surname and you have to wait till 60 days.this is a notice under section 80 cpc.

You must issue notice on behalf of your daughter to the C.B.S.E. for getting her surname and father name corrected. If the C.B.S.E. did not correct the same you must file a civil suit on her behalf for correcting the same. You can file a writ petition in concerned High Court by filing a Writ Petition against C.B.S.E. for correcting the same. Engage an advocate for filing civil suit or writ petition.
