What is the validity of a MOU singed without notary

I sign mou with one associate with 50000 cash on 20 RS stamp paper without notary .I paid cash him 35000 cash with out sign any paper ( receipt ) Now he demand 66000 and send me legal notice by advocate .PL advise me

MoUs are not legally enforceable as such. However, as you have not notarized or registered it, the document is just a piece of paper without the opposite party's signature. Now, you can collect all the evidence regarding the transactions made by you to the opposite party and then on fight the case (if filed) by the opposite party.
