what is the procedure for changing the Date of birth in documents

Sir,my son is studying in B.Tech.his DOB is 08/02/1999 in his all documents.while his real and according to his birth certificate his DOB is 08/02/1998. Now i want to change his DOB according to his birth certificate issued by govt.authority. Please suggest me is it possible.if yes what is the procedure.. Thnanks
You will have to apply separately to the concerned department for correction in the particulars/details. you will be required to produce a birth certificate along with the application.
