Verification of Caste certificate accordingly to BC certificate Act

22-Nov-2023 (In Documentation Law)

Govt. of Maharashtra passed a BC Certificate Act in 2000 abd Rules in 2003. According to that Govt. has declared revenue SDOs as competent officers to issues caste certificates to backward class persons. As per this Act these certificates are invalid. The persons have to submit their certificates to caste certificate scrutiny committees for validation. The committee declares caste certificate as invalid saying that affinity does not tally. It cancels and confiscates the certificate. In some cases High Court quashes the order of committee. The Govt. goes to Supreme Court. What can be done?
