School authorities made mistake in board certificate what to do now

Age difference between my friend and his own brother is approx (less than) 6 month only according to his board certificate due to carelessness of school authority. He is in extreme stress now realising the mistake after graduation.What should he do now?
As far as your board marksheet is concerned, you can approach the board that issued the certificate (for example CBSE) to issue a corrected certificate. If the board that issued your marksheet is not forthcoming, file a RTI application with them enquiring about the procedure to have the same done.
