Process to change the name

Hello Sir, My name is Gurupada Shrinivasa Bhat. In all government document I.e aadhar etc... My name is like above only. But in educational document my name is Gurupada Srinivasa Bhatta. Now I want change my name as Gurupad Bhat. Please suggest me what should I have to do? Because I am not changing my name but shortening it. Please help me Thank you

Since your name is wrongly mentioned in your educational records it is advisable to correct your name first preferably by filing a declaration suit in the city civil court and directing the school/ university to correct the name as Gurupada shrinviasa Bhat. After correcting the records you can then swear to an Affidavit bf4 a notary that your maiden name was Gurupada Shrinivasa Bhat and you intend to change your name as Gurupad Bhat and thereafter give a publication in 2 newspaper one in Engilish and other in the vernacular language intimating the general public that henceforth you name has changed from Gurupada Shrinivasa Bhat to Gurupad Bhat.
