Hi,
It is not mandatory to register a WILL. The registration of a WILL is optional. However if the author of the WILL is willing to register it he can do so before the concern sub-registrar of registration where the property is located. In your case the WILL was already drafted and in your custody. On the demise of Testator(the author of the WILL) the last will written by him will get its life. Get it probated to give full effect.
