Procedure to change the name in educational certificates?

My Fathers name was incorrectly updated as 'Markandan' when he joined the army and the same has been updated in all his ID cards including Army documents and his personal ID cards. But our educational certificates has fathers name as 'Markandaiah'. 1. Will this pose any problems in future? 2. What corrective action has to be taken now? Appreciate your suggestions :)
Yoi have to file suit for declaration declaring the change of name by issuing notice to concerned authorities and later file suit in civil court for declaration declaring name change and u get judgment and decree
