Procedure for name change in marriage certificate

I need to change my name in marriage certificate (need to remove an extra surname). Is it possible? Registry was done after marriage. I am Female and Hindu by religion.
It can be done over an affidavit before the first class judicial magistrate over an application and thereafter with the order of court and newspaper publication you can change your name with the respective authorities
