what are the documents require for heir ship certificate and how long it takes to get the certificate and where. and the cost. I have an House where the BMC is the Landlord and I am the tenant. My mother was the Principle tenant and as she died and now the house has to transfer in my name the bmc requires Heir ship certificate . The Ration card is in my name / The light bill is in my name./ Kindly let me know the procedure
The legal heir certificate is issued by the SDM(Sub Divisional Magistrate) of the area on the basis of any application submitted by you.
An inquiry is made by the SDM through the SHO(Station House Officer ) of the area and on being satisfied by the inquiry vis a vis your application, the Legal Heir Certificate would be issued to you.
