I am lending money to brother should I take sign on stamp paper

is there any value of a paper on which I signed saying that I will give some amount to my brother. paper is signed by some witnesses also. but it is not a stamp paper.
In case you have borrowed money from your brother you are bound to pay back the money, your brother can file a recovery suit against you and the paper signed by you that states that you will pay back the money can be used as evidence.
