How to change caste name in community certificate

30-Oct-2023 (In Documentation Law)
My caste is mentioned as BC- Hindu Servai. Whereas in my parent's certificate, it is mentioned as BC- Hindu Agamudayar. As the caste Servai is not coming under OBC status, I need to change my caste name in my community certificate as Agamudayar. Is there any legal way to change this?

To do that, along with community certificates of your father and mother, you may have to approach Panchayat or VAO with an affidavit obtained from notary public if both your parents are of same community.

I presume, from your query, your parents must be of different community and your present community certificate to be of one of them and now you may want to change it to other of them, then you should also get another affidavit for your concern to change the community if major, or if minor, parents should give certificate to that effect.

If it is not so, if it happened without knowing, then it is simple procedure to obtain with the procedures to follow in the Panchayat/Zilla or VAO office by filling the form with supporting affidavit document obtained from notary public (even to get notary public, you should have some proof for your change of caste).
