Fraud and Misuse of Documents without my knowledge

11-Sep-2023 (In Documentation Law)
My insurance advisor has used my documents as gaurantor in his loan liabilities with multiple banks 10-11 years back. Now the recovery agents are calling and asking me the whereabouts of that person. I m clueless and from these agents I came to know that i m guarantor in the loan. Kindly guide what to do. This person is not traceable by Banks for last 10 years. I also dont know and last seen him in 2008. Rgds Raj

The First thing you should do is to report the same to your concerned police station about all this by taking advise of a good lawyer who can draft your complaint so that FIR can be registered by Police against the fraudster. In this way it will somehow safeguard you to some extent. Further, you need advise from lawyer on recovery proceedings also as your property can be attached by the court / tribunal for recovery of the loan taken by using your document as Guarantor. Further, you need to prove that you have not signed any other documents except Your Own documents. Do not delay, act fast.

just file a complaint in local police station about the incident and produce a copy officially to the bank about your unawareness of the matter and also ask them that you will guid them and help them finding the personn if it is known to you else you donot have anything to do with the incident.
