Foreigner married to an Indian when can she apply for citizenship?

Nepali girl married to an Indian in 2012. When can she apply for Indian passport and citizenship and what documents are required? Can she surrender Nepal passport and apply for Indian Passport? The act says after 7 years can it be done before that?
No person can enter into India without a valid passport. Therefore, if your wife is currently in India, she should have a valid passport from Nepal. If not, she should apply for a passport from her home country. Citizenship can only be acquired after your wife has resided in India legally for 7 years.
