Different surname of father in different documents will it be problem

21-Jun-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Dear Sir, My Father's name in all my Id proof is Vinod Singhal whereas in all my father's Id name is Vinod Kumar. In case of any mishappening will it be a concern when I will be claiming property, Bank claim, LIC Claim etc. What document can I create like affidavit etc to resolve this issue. I can make this as father is alive and later I will not be able to do anything.

It should not be a problem as long as you can prove you are his son. But to be safe, change his name on all your ID, especially your passport. First take out a public notice for this, then apply to the passport office to make the change and issue you a fresh passport. You and your father may have to give affidavits for this. Having the name changed on the passport is most important. You can also have your father write a Will mentioning the mistake and have the Will registered, in which the property should be bequeathed to you.

You can get an affidavit on a stamp paper mentioning that both the names i.e. vinod singhal and vinod kumar belong to the same person. This will resolve your issue. Although you can get in touch with the relevant authority regarding the same issue.
