Can I add my wife's name as spouse if I dont have marriage certificate
22-Mar-2023 (In Documentation Law)
As my marriage was an intercaste one, I haven't obtained the marriage certificate. In the absence of it, is there any possibility that I can add my wife's name in the passport spouse field.
i dont think that, the authority will accept your request ,without a marriage certificate.
please get the certificate first. in case,if any difficulty to get the same,we can get it through a direction from the high court.

Hi,
It is a prerequisite that you need a marriage certificate for endorsing your spouse's name in your passport. So you need to apply and register your marriage under Special Marriage Act before the marriage officer(Registrar) in your or your spouse's locality and obtain the marriage certificate and then you can apply before the passport officer for endorsing your wife's name in your passport.

Hai,
default of marriage certificate never denies your right to add ur wife's name in spouse coloumn. You can have a declaration order from court or have it registered at ur local panchayat or even at your registering office. Once u had done any one of the above u can obtain a document to show before the passport authorities to legalize your wife's status.
Hope am upto ur query

The question is, how was the marriage solemnised? It is believed that you are a Hindu. As such, intercaste marriage is valid. It is not necessary that Hindu marriages, Supreme Court's directions with standing, be registered.
