Can a child get caste of his mother

I need a clarification. I belong to MBC (most backward class) and my wouldbe wife belongs to BC (Backward class). Is it possible that my child in future gets the community certificate with BC (caste of mother)?? Thanks in advance
The child can get the caste of either parent, for that the parent under whom the child is being brought up should specifically state the same with the proof of her own community.
