Who gets the child in case of mutual divorce case

I am a govement employee and my husband is in assam .now my husband file divorced petition againts me .if i m also get divorced with my husband..who get ababy girl child.
In most of the cases the courts grant custody of the child to the mother . How ever if they get convinced that father will give better upbringing then they may decide in favour of father. Under any circumstances both the patents shall have visiting rights equally.
