When is the alimony money granted

My husband is earning 30000/month. i want to ask about whether alimony money is granted after divorce or before divorce. i have 4 children. two children have crossed 18 yrs of age . while other two are minor.the major children consist of one girl and one boy. both are studying their graduate courses their college fees are 10000/yr. while the boy is staying in hostel , the hostel expenses are 5000/month. plzz tell me alimony amount.
Their is no such fixed amount in shape of alimony under law but still you can get about 20 lakhs if the husband accepts your demand, against the order of alimony your husband will move high Court so you must give your presence on the first date as the high court will try to do mediation on the alimony amount

There is no calculator made for this purpose. the quantum of alimony depends on the expenses of you and earning of your husband. You have not mentioned that if you are a working woman or not, it is also important while deciding the quantum of alimony
