What is the procedure for divorce in Muslims
21-Feb-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi sir. This is regarding a friend of mine. She married a guy (Yes, She is converted to muslim). On November 2016 . But since then she is staying at her parents home. And She regrets the decision. Hence it has been 3 months since her marriage took place in the mumbai court. Now she wants to get seperated. What are the procedures.
She need to approach family court for divorce. Note- after completion of one year of marriage she can apply. Other option is to send khulanama as per sharia law to her husband for dissolution of marriage.
Dear client if she married by converting to Islam by following Islam procedure then she can apply for khulla with kazi. Otherwise she have to wait for one year for filing divorce. For any legal help call me

For sound advice more details required about the marriage , married in Court means where? do you mean Marriage registered under Special Marriage Act and a Nikah was not performed? What proof does she have of the conversion? All these documents needs to be seen for proper advise. Advisable to meet an advocate with all documents at the earliest.
