What is the procedure for contested divorce.

15-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi team Thanks once again for your valuable suggestions online. Now coming to my query , from last 10 months I am roaming to court for getting divorce bz of my wife's mental and cruel nature, even she filed false cases on me which made me in loosing the job as well. Last month she turned up and put vakalatnama and what ever the petition she wrote is completely ruthless and false. Now my query is first we filed petition on wife she did not turned up from 8 months and when ex parte is going to be granted , she hired lawyer and put counter petition and order 9 rule as well. I want to take divorce from my cruel wife as soon as possible. Can you please tell me now my lawyer again goes with counter petition through paper or argument basis. If she is not able to prove herself which she wrote in petition, what will happen and how much time it takes to get divorce granted to me and which one is the best solution through compromise or dealing the case...

Dear there is no shortcuts to get contested divorce decree, if the opposite party is fight the case the court will take its own time, no doubt you have good grounds to fight your case, but you have to prove all the allegations.

Hi
Normally in family court, the cases are decided based on arguments.
However no family court will say the wife has lied or husband has lied.
it will simply grant divorce.
Now that your wife has entered appearance, the courts will decide the matter in 4 to 5 months (if both the parties appear in the courts regularly)
