Though the couple living separately for a year it is statutory that the petitioners should wait another period of 6 months from the date of filing the mutual consent petition in the family court.
Parties should present at the time of filing the consent petition as well as at the time of passing the order.

that divorce by mutual consent can be filed after one year of separation .it has to be filed jointly by husband and wife . once divorce petition is filed it would be referred for counseling to enable parties to reconcile . lawyer fees vary . so we cant state what would be total expenditure . consent erms are enclosed to divorce petition . issues as to maintenance , alimony , child custody , streedhan etc have to be amicably sorted out between parties . The Mutual consent Divorce will take six months time for the final order in normal case, and in case of any disputes not settled as per the consent terms of the parties, you can keep the petition pending up to 18 months before agreeing for the final consent and submission.
If both the parties are agreeable you both can approach one advocate and save money in terms of advocate fee. An help in this regd please contact, TY:)

filing for divorce by mutual consent takes exactly 6 months and not a single day more. Both Parties must be present at the time of filing of the petition and thereafter exactly after 6 months a date will be given for appearance, and mediation, once mediation is returned back, the court will proceed to grant the divorce.
