Want to expedite divorce proceedings, please help?
09-Oct-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I got married 10 years back, no kid , tortured by wife. I have a filed a divorce petition on 13/12/13 however, there is no response on that. They are only giving dates, there is no progress in the case. The opposition party keeps on filing some or the other application. I am fed-up. Please suggest how can I expedite the proceeding?
Filing application to seek one or the other relief is the right of a party so u can't raise a protest against that. However so far as frivolous applications are concerned, the same can be condemned in the court and in case the court also feels that way, the court can take a strict view. Rest these kind of matter take a lot of time in case the same are contested. Therefore u need to be patient at this stage.

Dear Sir,
A contested divorce does take a little time. Try settling the matter and arriving at a mutual consent divorce. You can request the court to send the matter to mediation and try to amicably settle the matter
Please feel free to revert in case of further clarifications.

Dear Sir
Once a case is contested by the other party, it will be their endeavor to pursue it at there own pace and will. Now, consult with your lawyer and whenever frivolous applications are being preferred, make it a point to bring it to courts' notice that dilatory tactics are being used to delay the matter. Having said that, both parties have a right to resort to whatever legal remedy are available to them, so u in that case cannot do much about the various applications that they are filing. Divorce matters involve multiple applications. You can also consult/change your lawyer. Moreover, be patient.
