Took divorce from local samajik panch is it valid

I belongs to tribal cast and has taken divorce from local samajik Panch. can I remarry? Can tribal man keep two wives? Pradip Ahmedabad
Your divorce from local samajik Panch is valid as per section 29(2) of Hindu marriage act and you can remarry with another girl.
But, you can not keep two wives. It is barred under Hindu marriage act.

If there is tradition of getting divorce from local panch as mentioned by you, in your community, you can remarry. But I would suggest to get a decree of divorce from the competent court of law to avoid any problems in future. As far as second querry is concerned, you cannot legally keep two wives.
