Under Hindu law of maintenance,specific provisions had been provided for maintenance,with that under section 125 of Crpc ,which is a secular enactment wife can claim maintenance.
The condition under which maintenance is denied is specifically provided in the Act .

If husband shows that he has no independent source of income .however the husband will have to satisfy the court that either due to physical or mental disabilities he is handicapped to earn and support to his livelihood . It is support to be given by the earning spouse in favour of non earning spouse

wife is well educated earning well, her acquisition are false , she is cruel to the husband and family. No justification by wife why she does not want to live with husband. She has remarried or is in relationship, , mutual consented etc
