Married without consent of parents is the married valid

23-May-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My brother married her gf two years back without the consent of her girl parents. She chose to stay with her family. But it's been two years she has not revealed a bit and never turned up home. My brother explained everything to her. To his surprise, they think that their marriage is illegal. Now, they married in a Gurduwara and had their marriage registered at the office. Her maternal uncle who is a lawyer said to my brother that this marriage is nothing and is illegal. Plz advise on how to proceed with divorce.

Once the marrigae is registered it become legal. Date of Marriage would b treated from the date mentioned in marriage certificate. Consent of parents is not essential for marriage. Marriages are valid even without consent of parents. What is required is that parties should get married as per rites and ceremonies of either party and parties have proof for that.
