If rti is filed at the institution where wife works,,,is the employer bound to provide designation and salary details of the wife? The institution is under state govt. I m Hindu by faith
There are many protocols that are maintained by goverment offices, it may happen that they may inform you about the designation and may not inform you the salary part. For various informations part by part they have separate rules. They are not bound to disclose hence, it varies in different offices.

The Bombay high court has held that an information officer cannot directly supply a person's personal information unless the authority is satisfied that such disclosure would be in larger public interest. Yes. As per the RTAct, the Govt. Authority is bound to give answer in you question within time. Provide that, they will follow some cautions and did not states few informations as their internal departmental matters. But regarding Designation and Salary, usually the Authority send the answer accordingly. If you did not satisfied in their answer, you may proceed before the Appellate authority.
