Is DNA test required for a divorce case

31-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
1) Is DNA test compulsory in every divorce case ? 2) In case of a divorce between the father and stepmother of a child, the father should get sole custody of the child. In such a case, how will the father prove that his wife is the stepmother and not the biological mother of the child if the answer to question 1 is'no' ?

DNA test is not compulsory but if you want to you can.

The child who was born has a birth certficate provided by the respective hospital or nursing home which contains both the names of the biological parents on it. That is a sufficient document to prove who is the biological mother of the child. Even when you applied for the municipal birth certificate wherein you have mentioned the name of the biological mother so that particular municipality over an RTI Application will inform you the name of the biological mother. For further clarifications discussion is needed for better understanding.
