Inter religion marriage done according to customs but not registered

I am a hindu man married to a muslim girl for 9 months.Marriage undertook in the presence of both families but not registered under Special Marriage Act. Is this marriage void?
As per ur quary u married with inter religon cast ,ur Marriages is valid under special marriage act ,u can apply for marriage certificate in appropriate court or before marriage officer with require documents as per rules
