In-laws interference and control over my life what should I do legally

20-Feb-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am highly frustrated Hindu bahu because I live with my in-laws and they are exerting utmost control over my and my husband's life. We are not allowed to go out together or spend time together except for night-time in our bedroom. They keep nagging about all the household work i do and constantly highlight my husband about my mistakes. My husband is never willing to hear my side of the story and always wants me to keep adjusting as per their needs.I do not have any social life now. I need to take permission from my father-in-law if I wish to visit my parents. The amount of control is increasing day-by-day. My husband is not willing to discuss my problems and inconvenience. My professional life is getting hampered because of constant issues.I tried to get counseling and medical help but nothing has worked. Is there a point in staying in such a relationship where I get no respect and attention from my husband and his family?I feel lonely and depressed most of the time. What should I do?

Hi
You have to start asserting yourself and conducting your life the way you want and they will slowly get used to it. If anyone in family gets abusive or violent you can approach the police for help and file an application under Protection of women from domestic violence . An detailed meeting with an advocate will you in understanding your rights which would help you in deciding the way forward.
