You will have to file maintenance case for the same.
Futher the alimony depends on your and your spouse's circumstances.
If you are also earning and able to maintain yourself, you may not get alimony for yourself, but that too depend on how much you and your spouse earns. If he's earning more then you, and you are unable to maintain yourself then he is liable to pay, and court would order so.
For your child, he/she will get maintenance from their father, irrespective of the fact that you earn, because he is liable to maintain that child.
Apart from maintenance case, you can file a divorce case to seek divorce on the ground of desertion.
Further you can also file a case of domestic voilence.
So overall you and your child can get maintenance.

If your husband left you, you can file a divorce case on the ground of desertion and you can file a case for maintenance for yourself and your child as well. Being a father he is duty bound to pay you money . You can also file a case through which court will compel him to live with you. Choice is your what you want. Every remedy is available for you. If your husband left you and your son without any cogent reason then file a domestic violence case. This case will cover all your right under one umbrella. If he tourture you for dowry then you can also file a complaint before C.A.W cell.
