Husband does image morphing and shows to my and his parents

07-Apr-2023 (In Divorce Law)

Hi, I am filing for a divorce from my husband and we have agreed for Mutual consent of divorce. My husband is Impotent and when I told his family about this, they disagreed and just to save their family from getting a bad name they have morphed my images (like sleeping on some guy and kissing, holding a Liquor bottle in my hand types) and my Father-in-law has showed these images from his laptop to my grand-father and grand-mother. They are spreading unwanted rumors about me and told that they will leak the photos if we tell about his Impotency to anybody (like my extended family members)

As per your query, you can file for divorce on the bases of impotency. The court will grant you permission for the same after a medical check-up. As with all fault grounds for divorce, impotency must be supported by evidence or testimony, or the case could be dismissed. As a general rule, the spouse suing for divorce must provide medical or other expert testimony to prove the other spouse's impotence. Apart from this, you can file a defamation case under section 499 or IPC against your in-laws for harming your image in the society by showing people your morphed images.
