Have declaration form court but no marriage certificate what to do

My friend got married in a temple without a temple certificate but got a declaration certificate from court on 100 Rs. stating them to be married. But now they want get separated. We wanted to know if that was a valid marriage or not. If yes, what is the divorce procedure?

As you said you have Marraige declaration and that is sufficient. You also need a joint Marraige photograph. If you both have decided to go for mutual divorce, you have to file divorce petition u/s 13 B of HM act, and you will get order after six month after filing.

Hi If both are Hindus then the marriage is valid . Secondly if both are agreeable to the Divorce and they have been married for over a year then Mutual Consent Divorce Prtition can be filed in the Court and after six months if both don't change their mind ,Divorce would be granted.

Dear client if the certificate is issued by competent authority like registrar of marriage then marriage is legal. If they want to get separate they can file mutual divorce jointly in court. For any legal help call me
