Guidance regarding the alimony transaction to wife after divorce.

28-Jan-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Myself and my wife went for a mutual consent divorce. While the alimony amount is made as a joint FD. Can somebody suggest me how to handover the joint FD properly recorded to her so that they should not come back demanding more in the future. Also my lawyer is asking us to register the alimony amount as the decree doesn't seem to carry the amount settled out of court. Is it worth doing this way or just obtaining a decree stating the marriage dissolve is enough. Please could someone suggest me on my next steps.

HI
Once the marriage decree is obtained, then there can be no further claims by the wife.
So once the court pronounces the decree, you can issue a letter to the bank asking them to pay the proceeds of the FD to the wife and take acknowledgement of the same (as proof of payment) and keep it in your records.
