Friend's wife blackmailing him

my friends wife has demanded divorce and sum of RS 1 crore from her husbands family. Still they have not come up with any allegation or case from court, but intention is to get money. Need some help regarding what is the best way to overcome the situation. They have threatened they if not meet the requirment, then they will put serious allegations including dowry and torture to the family. the girl is on her parents house since june. and she had gone to her home for 3-4 months previously as well.
Well your question does not clearly clarifies that what does u friends want...if he just want a precautionary action or he wants a divorce.. If he wants divorce than action will taken accordingly.. If he wants precautionary action will be taken accordingly. There is remedies available.tell your friend to make up the mind for action
